SPAMAST Library Policies
BEHAVIOR IN THE LIBRARY:
To be observed by all users. (Students, faculty, staff & etc.)
1. SILENCE must always be observed inside and along the corridors of the library.
2. Eating, bringing of foods and drinks are not allowed in the library.
3. Sleeping is strictly prohibited.
4. Cleanliness and orderliness in the library must always be maintained.
5. Cell phones and other electronic communication devices must be turned off. Use of video and audio gadgets is
not allowed inside the library.
6. Answering crossword puzzles, quizzes in any of the periodical is considered vandalism and punishable according
to the rules and regulation of the school. However such interest is highly encouraged for learning but only
periodicals out of circulation are allowed. The student/pupil must ask from the in-charge.
7. Anyone found guilty of stealing, mutilating, defacing, misusing or destructing any library materials will loss
library privileges and/or face sanctions.
8. Library users who engage in disruptive and inappropriate behavior will be asked to leave the library.
9. Wearing of caps, slippers, sleeveless and miniskirts are strictly prohibited inside the library.
CONTROL POLICIES:
1. Library users should deposit their bags at the baggage counter before entering the library;
2. Upon leaving the library users are required to show all the things they carry for inspection;
3. The subject teacher of a class or section of students must be with the group when making library research .
4. Visiting researchers are required to wear their school ID and must present a referral letter from their school
director or principal.
5. Visiting researchers in college library are required to asked permission from the librarian and are not allowed
to take out books for home use. However, they may be allowed to photocopy any of the books.
CIRCULATION POLICIES:
1. Library borrowers’ card with ID picture is the official identification to be used in borrowing out materials. The
Borrowers’ card is issued upon the registration.
2. Borrowing by proxy and authorization letter is not allowed.
3. Students who have over due and unreturned books and unsettled account are not allowed to borrow other
books.
4. Any damages on the returned books will be charged to the last borrower.
5. In case of calamities, where books are totally destroyed due to fire, floods and earthquakes, the student should
secure an affidavit of loss; and the student may not pay for books lost.
6. Student who lost borrowed book should report immediately to the librarian or circulation desk in-charge to
avoid the accumulation of charge.
7. Newspapers, periodicals, vertical files and general references can be used only within the library premises.
BORROWING PRIVILEGES:
1. Students are allowed to borrow books for a maximum of 3 titles at a time. (Circulation & Fiction only)
